As a beautiful destination, Venice—with its 1,000-year-old history and floating-on-water setting-- is pretty hard to beat. But in the thick of the season, much of that loveliness can be obscured by flocks of sight-seers. Forget everything you think you know about tourist traps and crowds. We're talking about Venice in March, when the city reveals its true self: a place where you can actually hear your footsteps on ancient bridges and have real conversations with gondoliers instead of fighting for selfie space.

In March, you’ll have space to breathe in St. Mark's Basilica, time to meet artisans on Murano island while learning to blow glass, and peaceful moments watching lace-makers on colorful Burano. We're even throwing in a day trip to Verona because, come on, who doesn't want to see Juliet's balcony? Plus, you'll create your own Carnival mask—because if you're going to Venice, you might as well embrace the drama.
We have easy, interest-free payment options.
Our seven-day itinerary in the city that defies gravity hits all the must-sees but skips the tourist-herd mentality. We're talking aperitivo and authentic dinners, a gondola ride at your own pace, evening opera or Vivaldi concerts, and lunch at the fish markets near Rialto Bridge while locals go about their daily business around you. With Shannon's art historian insights and artist's eye, you'll see Venice not just as a postcard, but as a living, breathing masterpiece that's been inspiring people like us for centuries.
Please note that this is a sample itinerary. Accommodations and activities may change but we will always replace them with something of equal or better value.

We’ll meet at the train station for a water taxi to our hotel. After an aperitivo, we’ll get to know each other over a welcome dinner.
We’ll spend the day exploring the nooks and crannies of Venice, along with must-see spots like St. Mark’s Square and the Doge Palace. Shannon will bring the art and architecture to life with her knowledge of the city. Plus, she’ll guide us to some of her favorite insider spots for shopping, snacking, and artisan studios.
We’ll take a boat to the famous glass island of Murano. Not only will we see the process, but we’ll also have the chance to blow some glass ourselves. Then we’ll head to Burano for lunch and to watch local women engage in the renowned tradition of lace-making that the island is famous for.
Venice is renowned for its vibrant Carnivale—when people parade and party in elaborate masks and costumes. We’ll immerse ourselves in the history and traditions of the most famous masquerade ball in the world. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to create your own mask under the guidance of a master of this exquisite art.
Enjoy a full day to yourself, perfect for exploring new places or revisiting your favorite shops and museums. Indulge in a delightful gondola ride, followed by an enchanting night at the opera or a captivating Vivaldi concert.
We’ll head back to the main Venice train station, where you can continue your journey by train throughout Italy or head to the airport for your flight home.
You can fly into Venice (VCE) or you can fly into Rome (FCO) or Milan (MIL) and take a train to Venice.
Please arrive by 3:00 PM. We will meet at the Venice Santa Lucia train station at a pre-arranged time. Then, we'll go together from the station to the hotel by Water Taxi.
If you are flying into Venice, there is a 15 minute bus ride that will take you from the airport to the Piazzale Roma in the city for 10 Euros. It is then a 6 minute walk, over a canal, to the train station.
No Visa is required for US citizens but you do need an ETIAS authorization. This is a new requirement and a simple process which we will walk you through closer to the trip.

For most of history, women past child-bearing years were basically put out to pasture. This was happening even in our mothers’ time. We call bullshit on that. We believe we are at a peak in so many ways and are devoted to helping women our age live the richest, most kick-ass lives possible.
We do that by informing, promoting and connecting women–through our magazine, through our member community and through the transformative experiences of travel.
So many travel choices…so little time. You could spend days and days trying to put together just the right combination of destination, activities, and price.
Or you could stop shopping and start traveling with us for something that feels like the greatest girlfriend trip ever–even if you come solo. We specialize in experiences that deeply connect you to other women–travelers and locals–and create life-lasting memories. Experiences you can’t get on your own. And do it all with flexible payment options.
This video will tell you if you’re a good fit for a NextTribe trip. We are proud that we’ve become known for how quickly and deeply our groups of women bond on our trips. One of our rules: No divas, please.
